In order to insure the welfare of the moose herd, the Ministry of Natural resources limits the number of adult animals that can be harvested in each Wildlife Management Unit. Ontario residents can apply directly to the lottery for their tags, but non-residents much purchase their tags from an outfitter, Roughly 10% of the tags in each WMU are divided up amoug the outfitters who operate in that WMU. We have a limited number of tags in WMUs 12a & 12b. Both areas are very popular with residents. We encourage our non-resident hunters to bow hunt. The area is much less crowded and the hunters  can have a much better quality hunt.The bow season opens on the 18th of September and runs until the star of the rifle season on October9th.
