Ontario Walleye Fishing
Walleye thrive in a wide range of Quetico Park rivers and lakes. In fact, Quetico Park was rated #5 for the Top 10 Walleye Waters in Ontario in the March 2000 "In Fisherman" magazine. Specific lakes include: Russell, Pickerel, Sturgeon, Jean, Badwater, Agnes, Kawnipi, Poohbah, Conmee & Williams.
When fishing for Walleye, remember they are a light-avoiding fish, caught most often under low light conditions. Look for areas of structure and cover including weeds, wood and rock.
Walleye fishing is generally best on cloudy or overcast days, or on days when waves keep light from penetrating too deeply into the water.
